Maasi lives in one of those old, stone cottages- the kind that abound in the Cantt in Pune. Uncle's in the army and is posted in the North East. So, right now the house resembles a girls' night out...six women..all chatty and vivacious and all in the mood for a lot of fun! We didn't sleep all of last night. The six of us (Maa, Pookins, Pinks and Timps, Massi and moi) were sitting huddled under blankets on the huge four-poster bed and talking the night away. Learnt some pretty interesting things from Maa and Maasi...one of them being that my nani's ancestors had connections with the Marathas and had fled Maharashtra to head to West Bengal in the 18th century! The history student in me is very excited- I want to now go to Cal asap and look at the old family tree that has been discovered in an iron chest under the ancestral home! :)
Made pancakes for breakfast this morning.. banana pancakes! Am most pleased with myself!! :) Spent all of this afternoon sitting on the iron bench under the large oak tree in the garden reading... the mild sunlight was streaming in through the branches, a light breeze was blowing and an assorted rock CD was playing in the Cd player... this is BLISS!!
Am going to be ambushed tomorrow... at the Saraswati Puja.. The paragon lives in Bombay and, like me, is here for the long weekend! I have my act all ready... Have even learnt names of some famous MB authors- Betty Neals.. and something else... Gosh!! I need to remember some other names as well!!! I will be a Britney and Justin lovin' person who went to the temple to pray that these two get together and was devastated when they didnt!!! And of course, Ekta Kapoor is my GOD! Tulsi is my role-model and I am learning how to be a good wife by watching ALL the K serials!!! *Grin* So, tomorrow is going to be fun!!!
